We had a 7 day all inclusive holiday and wanted a real taverna experience for a change one of the nights.
Not only has this place delivered, but it’s so good we had to come back.
I would honestly take a flight to Crete, just to eat here. It’s in my opinion the best food I’ve had in Crete.
I’ve had the mains, but I was amazed by the appetizers and of course the Greek salad.
Whatever you do don’t skip the ‘village bread’ it comes warm and it’s a lovely, crusty, sourdough.
Everything was amazing. The lemon pie, the Greek salad, and the Giouvetsi was truly heavenly, out of this world. The place has such an atmosphere I can not compare to anything. Small river to your right, mountains to the left, huge trees around you… If you are near to this place and you searching for a place for a good dinner, do not hesitate.
What an outstanding experience! We drove a short distance from Chania, a little off the beaten path, and arrived to a stunning property in a fairytale-like setting. The authentic Cretan food was incredible (better than my mom’s, sorry mom!). Staff and service are wonderful and witty. I highly recommend a visit to this restaurant.
Awesome restaurant! Highly recommended.
The atmosphere in the place is wonderful. Surrounded by nature with traditional music, very specious and feels like a family gathering.
The food was awesome, fresh warm bread, raki, Dolmades (probably the best we’ve had!!), fried cheese with figs jam (Saganaki), pork steak with Mango and other delicious starters.
After the starters we complimented our host for the wonderful starters, she said “wait till the end” with smile 🙂
She was right! The promise of the starters continued to the mains…
For the main we had the moussaka, suckling pork and meat pie, all delicious and made in a local traditional way.
Deserts were nice but not spectacular, the Sfakianopita was awesome and the Kaimaki ice cream was great.
Service was a bit chaotic but very nice and friendly
Overall, highly recommended and worth spending an evening
This was a real surprise for me too….nature at all its glory! A riverside restaurant under glorious trees, beautiful setting for a nice relaxing evening with friends or your partner. The food was very well put together with organic local ingredients, flavours were rich representing the Cretan cuisine at its best. I will definitely return and I would highly recommend a visit to both locals and tourists!
