Regardless of the old rooms and furniture, the stay was amazing. Amazing host and family, did everything in their power to give us the best time in Rhodes 👏🏻
Lovely little place. You get so much more than you paid for. Excellent customer service 🙂 we just loved the owner. Hotel owned by a family, not another soulless chain. They will check on you everyday, get you chips when they thing you are hungry 🙂 Hotel is quite small, located 15 mins walking from the beach, bus stop just in front of the hotel, for daily trips. We will come back and we will reccomend to friends. Dont expect evrything will be new… its the cheapest place on Faliraki Beach…
Honestly don’t know how anyone can put this hotel down, everything was perfect. The owner Voula made our holiday perfect, the loveliest woman we have ever met. When we arrived she had made us hone made pizza and was generous the whole week and made us feel right at home. The woman works her socks off and the hotel is everything and more you could ask for. Thanks for everything Voula and the rest of Dolphin 🙂
This family made me and my brother Rodi’s trip so much better. One thing is to explore the island and get fascinated and happy from that, the other is the love and care there is from the owner and her children. Very loving hard working family and they take care of you like you’re one of them. They’re always out and about, ready to chit chat and make you smile. Pool is cleaned everyday and is such a nice place to hang around. This will definitely not be my last time there, but next time I’ll bring the whole family here. 10/10!
Much love from Allan and Rodi
WELCOME TO HELL – OPEN THE PHOTOS AT YOUR OWN RISK
The start of our holiday at Dolphin was not promising at all: we couldn’t even find the entrance, due to the lack of signpost, and when we finally got in there was no one around to welcome us. We had to call the hotel’s phone number to wake up the owner (bare in mind, it was 10 am) who eventually came by with a out-of-the-bed look (not to say more).
She was admittedly kind but she looked confused the whole conversation, she couldn’t even locate her own hotel where she lives on the map she handled us. I can’t understand how she lost her orientation on the same map she gives to every customer, she managed to read it upside down even if there’s the sea to clearly understand the right orientation, but anyway.
When we finally were introduced in our room, the situation was abysmal. Everything looked old and very dirty, as if the owner didn’t clean the room not only before our visit but in the last months. There was left over garbage in the drawers. Even the blankets looked like someone already slept in there. There were ants everywhere, even in the bathroom. We couldn’t manage to stay in the room as it was and we had to buy cleaning products in a near supermarket and clean the room by ourselves before touching anything.
You can clearly see the situation of the room in the photos, and keep in mind we took these pictures after we made the cleaning (and I assure you we tried our best).
The bathroom in particular looked like a horror movie, with hair everywhere and broken furnitures. Everything looked like it was badly painted twenty years ago as the painting was partly detached, revealing the dirt under it. The shower has no curtains so when you have a shower (if you’re brave enough to shower in there) the whole bathroom gets flooded. The little manhole supposed to drain the water from the bathroom is extremely dirty (nsfl picture included) and is also placed on a higher level than the rest of the floor, defeating its purpose. After just one shower, the bathroom is flooded for days.
In the main and only room, there were old and broken furniture as well, in particular an old and not working fridge that is just left there to rot (there’s another, newer but not so cleaner, fridge in the room that at least works). Beware the electrical sockets: they fall out from the wall if you’re not careful (the epitome of safety).
The room at night gets very hot (at least in August). There’s air conditioning but you have to separately pay for it. The first day we got to use it because we found the remote control in a drawer and we didn’t know it wasn’t free to use, but the owner the next day took it away when we were out without telling us anything.
We wouldn’t dare to eat anything here, but even if we would have wanted to have breakfast the owner just wouldn’t show up before 10 am at least, we never saw her before going out in the morning.
There’s a pool, it looked clean from the outside, but again after all we experience we wouldn’t dare to have a swim in there.
The only good thing about Dolphin’s apartment is the cheap price: the worst expended money or our lives, nonetheless.
