A Greek island I have never dreamed to have existed. Fertile, green, ubiquous landscape, wonderful beaches, stunning gorges, ancient monasteries. A must see again for me.
Great Island! People are smiley, gentle and meek! Spirit of Xenios Zeus lives here! Kaladi and Firri Ammos are the best beaches and immediately next are Melidoni and Chalkos! Avlemonas, Kapsali, Agia Pelagia and Diakofti are small villages with Ports but are for swimming also! Potamos, Chora with her Castle and Livadi are bigger villages that you can have night life also. Mylopotamos with the forest and waterfalls (low fall in summer) give you a day of coolness in hot days. Sunset can be seen from Kato Chora village! Hytra Cave can be reached by the boat of Captain Spyros, except the West winding days! Taverns with tasty Kitherian cuisine, and not only and Cafe are everywhere! Beware driving in long narrow stony and dusty roads with out seeing in curved turns, on the way to beaches and between villages, great attention mainly at nights! Unfortunately there is no Public Bus or Shuttle! Visit Kithira Island (Cerigo)! Feel the spirit of Greece!
Nice rural island. Definitely need to rent a car and we were happy to have been there off season as driving on theses roads and villages with lots of tourists cars might be a challenge!
Another perfect Greek island, nice for vacations for all kind of tastes. Beautiful both large and small beaches with crystal waters. Nice drink and food options, good hotel accomodations suitable also for families, but also and camping as an alternative and more inexpensive option. Beautiful nature, waterfall and hiking paths.
Greek paradise still, quiet island, nice beaches….
