  1. Imagine:
    * one man with a passion for fish and a passion for hospitality.
    * 7 or 8 tables on a small porch “shadowed” by a larger restaurant.
    * one man alone who will take your order, cook your food and serve you with a smile on his face.

Nowadays men have only 2 hands. So, bear with him and take the time to enjoy this unique experience with your feet almost in the sea. If you have the opportunity, try his catch of the day 🐟

We had a great time with the girlfriend chatting with the owner Stelios and following his food recommendations.

Highly recommend waiting for a table. Don’t go too late though, you might not have any fish left ?

  2. Not the one on the first floor! The one with the hidden accès and tables right on the sea front! One man band cooking and serving! Spent the afternoon there in the shade, had great fish and peaceful time before jumping in the sea Deon the nearby platform!

  3. Lunch on the sea, nothing fancy and that’s why it’s perfect. Had some poulpo then a bath. Life is good. Just don’t come here for fast food. There are two restaurants atop one each other, this review is for the one below, access via the left.

  4. My wife and I were recommended Captain George for lunch by a local guide. Could not have been happier. Very attentive service, beautiful fresh fish (very simply grilled with lemon, perfection!) and the setting was extraordinary, right down over the water. Well worth the walk down to the bay!

Just as an aside, I’ve notice a couple of (less positive) reviews which seem to be for the restaurant above Captain George. I can’t talk to the quality of the other restaurant (we didn’t make it there on our trip unfortunately), but if you are looking for Captain George, make sure you’re not going upstairs. This one is down the alley right by the water. Enjoy!

  5. Just like you imagine a Greek taverna to be: the sound of the waves, the smell of heartily food coming from the kitchen and a stunning view on the bay.
Add fresh fish coming directly from the daily catch (the brother of the owner was sitting outside preparing his next trip when we arrived!) and lovely staff… You shouldn’t miss a dinner here if you are in Sifnos!
