The Crown Jewel of Lefkada

Cape Lefkatas Lighthouse, perched on the southern tip of Lefkada Island, beckons travelers with its stunning panoramic views and captivating beauty. This iconic landmark serves as a beacon for sailors and a must-visit destination for tourists seeking natural splendor and breathtaking vistas.

A Journey Worth Taking

Reaching the lighthouse may require a bit of effort, as visitors have to embark on a climb from the parking area. However, as Cristian Bosoanca notes, “nice view” awaits those who can handle the short trek. Wearing proper footwear is recommended, especially as the road is narrow and winding.

The trek to the peak of Cape Lefkatas is moderately challenging but offers an exhilarating experience. Jim, a recent visitor, notes that “the walk up to the lighthouse is moderate and about 250 meters,” ensuring you’ll feel accomplished upon arrival.

  1. Nice view, with a little bit of climbing from the parking place (so don’t wear slippers). Also the road is a little tight, but you have great views along the way. There is no tax at the entrance or parking.

  2. Great views but frankly I don’t really think that this is must visit spot. Way is really narrow, we were lucky that we didn’t pass many cars. I rather recommend go on some beach view than this place.

  3. Offers a great view of Lefkadas southern coastline and surrounding islands.
The road leading there is spectacular, little bit narrow, but with kindness towards the other drivers in manageable.
We waited until the automatic lights in the tower were turned on.

  4. The drive there is a bit hairy (rates as average to moderate for the island) but breathtaking views of the bay and surrounds. Once you get to the lighthouse, the views go up another level (the walk up to the light house is also moderate and about 250 meyers). Be sure to go home by not taking the same route back (there’s 2 roads that sort of loop the light house but not exactly, see Google maps) if you want more vistas asking the west coast and to stop at taveras like oasis. It then become a half day or more trip.
