Went for my birthday for 10 nights in late June 2023.
Great trip, lovely hotel, amazing staff and gorgeous place to stay.
The location wasn’t the best however, there were bus stops up the road from the hotel which made it very accessible to Rhodes Old Town.
Lovely little supermarket up the road.
Very quiet beach and it’s kept extremely clean!!!
Jungle Bar at the hotel was excellent at night, lovely relaxing place to play cards and drink cocktails.
Hotel offers live music, karaoke and games of an evening.
Daytime water polo and aqua aerobics available at the main pool with top holiday reps.
Would 100% recommend staying here as we enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider coming back again.
I had the immense pleasure of spending my vacation at the Blu Sea Holiday Village on Rhodes. This place definitely deserves the highest ratings! I would like to particularly highlight the exceptional housekeeping staff, especially Christina and Elena (If I remember correctly). Their kindness and care for the guests were simply extraordinary. Moreover, these ladies regularly gave our children small gifts, which brought them immense joy and made our stay even more magical. Thanks to such gestures, we felt truly special. Blu Sea Holiday Village is a place that we will definitely recommend to anyone looking not only for comfortable accommodation but also for an unforgettable atmosphere filled with warmth and kindness.
We recently stayed at this hotel for a week and were pleasantly surprised by the amazing price of £300 each for the entire week, which truly outweighed any drawbacks. The staff were incredibly friendly and made our stay enjoyable from start to finish.
The hotel boasts lovely pools that were always clean, including a quiet pool area away from the hustle and bustle, perfect for relaxation. We also appreciated the variety of food options available at all meals, as well as the well-stocked bars offering a wide selection of cocktails. Additionally, the proximity of the beach and the punctual buses for day trips to Rhodes Town and Lindos were definite highlights of our stay.
However, we did encounter some issues during our time here. One unsettling incident occurred when someone with a keycard entered our room at 1am, which was a cause for concern. Furthermore, the lack of evening entertainment was disappointing, and the air conditioning not being turned on until June meant some discomfort during our stay. Additionally, the dining areas felt cramped during peak times, and we noticed an influx of bugs in our room due to a gap in the door.
Despite these challenges, the staff were responsive to our concerns, particularly regarding allergy labels on food, and they assisted us with dishes lacking proper labeling. However, the towel exchange policy, while understandable at three days, could benefit from a more efficient system to avoid unnecessary interrogation when requesting changes.
Overall, while there were some drawbacks, the positives of our stay, including the incredible price, friendly staff, and enjoyable amenities, made it a worthwhile experience.
The hotel is lovely. And the staff friendly and helpful. The food selection is good but it’s only ever warm not hot. The food court area is the best place to eat good selection of foods and usually hot. There’s also a desert section that has cakes and ice cream. Now for the not so great parts. The rooms were never cleaned properly, the maid was in our room for less that 5 minutes most days. We also had to move rooms because of some noisy young British people in the room nextdoor were yelling and giggling with the TV on at 2am they also continually slammed the door entering and exiting (the walls in this room were literally just plasterboard thick), when we asked the receptionist if we could move they sorted it out quickly and we were given a much better room with lovely balcony and views. The nearby beach is so dirty you can’t use it (see my review on the beach), the hotel caters mainly for French which isn’t necessarily a problem but the French are VERY rude and take it upon themselves to completely rearrange the dining room and bar areas to accommodate their group of 20 which completely blocks walkways for other guests. The waiting staff try their best to stop this awful behaviour by the French but they couldn’t care less about other guests only their group. The hotel really needs to stop this ignorant behaviour and tell them that if they require a table for a large group to request it in advance! And the final bad point, the hotel is in the middle of nowhere, there’s no where really in walking distance but there is a bus stop nearby. Oh and one final thing DONT bother asking to play mini golf 😂
Overall I can say that the price for value is great and it is worth exploring. See my detailed review below.
Room:
We had a quite spacious room with access to the pool. The beds were comfy and the room was very clean. The staff responsible for cleaning did always a great job.
Pools:
We had our own pool shared with 2 other apartments, it was always empty and the area was calm.
The main pool was where all the activities were happening: entertainment, sunbathing and bar right next to it. There was always space to get a sunbed.
Food:
There was food at all times. We arrived quite late after midnight and we were told there is still food at the main restaurant if we would like some. Great service! I am gluten intolerant, but didn’t struggle once to find some food for myself. Very rich selection of food for each meal. Inbetween the meals there was the snack bar close to the pool, where you had great options like salads, pizza, meat and veggies. Also ice cream.
Location:
It is outside of the cities and more calm location. About 30 mins drive from the airport. I would recommend renting a car if you would like to explore more from the island. Next to the reception there is a car rental company that gives nice discounts. Make sure you reserve at the day of your arrival to make sure you get the size of the car you wish. Other than that, you have a beach which is 5 mins walk away with sunbeds that belong to the hotel. The walk there is not the nicest, but at least the option is there. There is a supermarket 10-15 mins walk away from the hotel.
Facilities:
The hotel has a small gym with a few machines which should be enough for an easier workout session. Unfortunately no dumbbells so it limits the workout possibilities. There are 2 gyms which are about 20 mins walk away if you need a more advanced workout. There is an indoor pool and spa area. You can book a massage for discounted prices at your arrival day. There is a kids club for your small ones. There is a small shop next to the spa that can offer you your basic needs.
Bars:
You have 2 bars. One is next to the main pool. It’s nothing fancy, just some chairs and tables, but very nice bartenders.
The jungle bar located before the restaurant has a very nice design and is always crowded. Was tough to get a seat sometimes. The atmosphere is great, especially thanks to the two ladies working at the bar.
Entertainment:
There was a program for whole day. In the morning it started with darts, then the aqua gym, followed by water polo (champions league final 😄) and table tennis. After dinner there was a kids disco and then the main programme. Wasn’t perfect every night but the team tried their best. The only pitty was that it had to end around 22:30 – 23:00.
Special thanks to Mr. Daniele who was the leader in all activities amongst the entertainment team and inbetween always took the time to check in on the guests and provide nice conversations. Very professional and well behaved young gentleman. He made sure we enjoyed our stay. Thank you very much, Daniele!
