We booked 2 weeks at the end of July in Betty’s House Pythagorio and were very happy we did. The location cannot be faulted, its right in the middle of Pythagorio, off the main pedestrian (after 6pm) street, so you are right in the middle of things. The apartment is set slightly back from the street, so you don’t get too much noise bleed from the late night revellers. This is due to the thick walls of the apartment, which also keep the apartment cool(ish). Of course with mid july temperatures you also need AC and there are 2 in the apartment, 1 is in the lounge area and the 2nd in the bedroom. If i was being ultra picky i would say the light of the apartment was a little on the dark side, but this is a really minor point. The apartment is modern and comfortable and has good wifi throughout so communication isnt an issue if you use Whatsapp. Due to the width of the walls, normal phone connection isnt strong.
The hosts were amazing, Antonis was a font of knowledge about the island, beaches, restaurants etc and was always available via Whatsapp. His mother baked us some delicious tiganites pies, which we ate for breakfast, so added a lovely homey touch to the holiday.
In summary, well worth the money, location and hosts were great and we will definitely return!
A fantastic apartment, located in the middle of Pythagorion. So you are very close to the harbor with restaurants and the beach. The apartment, which is fully equipped, is clean and pleasantly furnished. Furthermore, the garden is nice and quiet and equipped with garden furniture. the WiFi connection is not optimal in the garden. Antonis & Betty and also the parents are wonderful people for whom nothing is too much. We will definitely be back there next year .
Very dark little studio in the center of town. Suitable for max. two people. I love to have a lot of natural light though, so for me studio was too dark and not aired. But I didn’t spend a lot of time in it anyway. Bathroom doors and ceilings are very low, so you have to be careful with your head. Since there is not a lot of fresh air coming in my clothes smelled kind of moldy after 3 days. I suggest you to book it for a day if in town, then move on 🙂 Maybe it is also annoying all the things you can’t do (throwing toilet paper in the toilets for example) and many more (there is a list of don’ts!) with all the threats about charging you extra. When you read this the first second you arrive, it doesn’t make you so welcomed. The owner never showed, he also gave lots of tips where to go, but I found out that it was all outdated (wrong bus schedule, some restaurants were closed …). Maybe it is better to give it a miss.
