Our cruise ship made a last minute itinerary change from Mykonos to Syros. We were fortunate to discover this amazing restaurant, which was the perfect last dinner for our cruise. We were very pleased that the restaurant was able to accommodate our last minute reservation and short timeline for dinner before our cruise ship left. (We had one hour and 15 minutes for dinner.)
We were impressed with the beautiful courtyard seating area. They took our order very promptly and moved through a 3 course meal fairly quickly. The service and food were excellent. Easily Michelin Star quality food and service. In fact, it was the best meal of our vacation to date, beating out a Michelin Guide recommendation and a 1 star Michelin restaurant that we enjoyed in Istanbul.
Another stunning meal at Avant-Garden this year. The chef never ceases to surprise with subtle flavour combinations, creative use of superlative local products and beautiful presentations. The wine list is well curated, particularly in terms of Greek wineries (very happy to see Tselepos’ Amalia bubblies). The setting and service are top-notch. This is not a traditional taverna and prices reflect the quality of the offering. Highly recommend this hidden gem!
Discovered yesterday another favourite chef from now on, Mr Konstantinos Bourantas. If you happen to visit Ermoupoli, the magnificent capital of Cyclades, and you are a foodie this is the place. Perfect balance in all the dishes I tried, really tasty ingredients, creative with substance, magnificent sweets (he’s also the pastry chef!). And the garden plus the service take the whole experience to another level. Probably top 5 in this type of restaurant in Greece.
If you would like to have a very nice, quiet romantic dinner- this is the place to go. Food is prepared with a lot of care. Dishes nicely decorated and are delicious and have unique tastes.
