we chose this restaurant as we were after a good, family run taverna off the beaten track. unfortunately our experience did not match with the positive reviews. the greek garlic bread was incredibly soggy (worst bread we’ve had so far sailing around Greece!). the grilled calamari tasted of ammonia. the boiled greens tasted of nothing. the grilled sardines were ok, nothing to write home about. the girl that served us was super friendly, while the owner was too busy chatting with friends to care about customers. to top it all, we were eaten alive by mosquitos. a real pity, this has been the first and so far only bad meal we’ve had around the greek islands
We are a group of four italians and we read amazing reviews about this place so we walked for 20 minutes to reach it and it was WORTH IT.
We order the seafood platter for 2 and split it in four, then we ordered spaghetti with prawns and mussels and we also got some tasty bread to accompany the pasta. The pasta was exquisite and well cooked. The ambience was calm and we liked the place so much we stayed for like 2 hours. We also got some lemon cake offered by the waitress and the owner who were both really nice and spoke perfect english. We payed 25 euros each for all of this.
If you’re in Zante don’t miss out on this amazing restaurant!!
The food was amazing and service was great. We got the moussaka, Greek salad and dorado both had good flavor. The Greek salad was the best I had while in Zakynthos. The bread and tzatziki were absolutely amazing! We went back a second time just for that. The only downside to our experience was that homeless children and a lady kept coming up to people sitting out in the patio at the restaurant begging for the food off of our table while we were eating. They would not take no for an answer from any of the guests sitting outside and continued to come bother us… one kid even reached out and touched our fries.
We had a dorodo and a moussaka and both were amazing! The dorodo was crispy and flavorful and was served with fresh salad and lemon. My partner had the moussaka and he prased it for the tasty layers and perfectly caramellised top. The lady who served us was also super friendly and gave us beach recommendations. The restaurant patio had a nice scenery due to being close to the church and the docks.
Myself and my boyfriend came for a
late lunch and really enjoyed it!
The taverna is authentic Greek food and family run which made for a really warm and welcoming experience. The have a wide range of dishes but specialise in fish and seafood.
I had the prawn saganaki which was amazing! The prawns were cooked perfectly and the tomato sauce was so delicious with deep flavours. My boyfriend had bruschetta followed by the fried squid and loved both dishes. Great quality good and great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend a visit!
