We had the best time in Anika Studios! Everything was perfect. Room was lovely , had to pay for air con but this didn’t seem over expensive. Shower beautiful and bed very big and very comfy!
Location was perfect. 15 min walk from Faliraki centre (‘the strip’) which meant that we could enjoy the quiet as well of the madness of the town. It felt very secluded (in a good way!).
In terms of amenities Anika had everything. Sunbeds in both sun and shade, and two swimming pools. The food at the restaurant was brilliant. We did half board and had an amazing breakfast and a tasty three course meal every night!!!!! There was someone on reception 24/7 and were happy help with any needs.
The highlight of our time here has to be, however , the staff, who were amazing , and honestly deserve an award. We were looked after as if we were family. Thank you to them all.
Me and my partner stayed here two weeks ago for a week, and on the final day I had an expensive jacket stolen from me by one of the cleaners. I was using the jacket under my one thin pillow to bulk it up so I wouldn’t hurt my neck sleeping, and when we checked out I accidentally left the jacket under the pillow – that part is my fault. After two hours I checked my baggage and noticed I didn’t have it and explained to reception that my jacket had been left under the pillow, in most places this would be enough to reclaim the jacket when you know you’ve accidentally left it somewhere ‘safe’. They gave me the room key back to check and after finding the room had been cleaned, there was no jacket. They asked the cleaning manager who said nothing had been found, which was obviously not true. They also mentioned all lost property is held at reception. I said I’d give it a few hours and check again before we got our transfer to the airport. Around 5 hours later I checked again, to which a different person on reception said they’d called the cleaning manager and asked about the jacket. After numerous calls between them, saying they had the jacket, then it had been left on a fireplace outside the room, which is odd considering lost property is held at reception. I went up about 4-5 flights of stairs to find no jacket. I had to search basically the whole hotel, and was asked to look in all the cleaning cupboards etc to find this jacket. It’s pretty clear that the jacket had been stolen from the room and then they got caught so tried to return it to a place where whoever took it couldn’t be named and shamed, but as it wasn’t there, it’s clear either they didn’t return it or left it somewhere to be stolen by someone else. As we were about to leave for the transfer, the guy behind the desk said to leave my address, old room number and description of the jacket as they had it and they’d send it to me the next day. Two weeks later from returning, and nothing has turned up. I waited sufficient time to receive it before writing a review but I thought people should be aware of the risks of losing belongings when staying here. There is a safe but this is only helpful for watches, money etc., not larger items such as clothing, so stay at your own risk. I would happily accept my mistake if I boarded the plan and noticed I had left my jacket, but when I notice it has been left just a couple of hours after in a safe locked room. then suddenly it’s nowhere to be found and everyone seems to be giving different answers and almost trying to confuse you then it becomes a big red flag that somebody has taken it. In most places you would leave an item and be able to collect it from reception a few hours later but it was a complete maze trying to do that here until it was too late and I never received the jacket back.
We had a standard double bed room and I would say don’t pay much attention to the pictures they put on of the rooms online, the showrooms aren’t even close to what you get. We had a rip in the curtain which let in sunlight, the bathroom door was literally a door you’d put on the front of your house, the only way to lock it was with an actual door key, the shower goes directly onto the floor, toilet and anything in the way as it’s a wash room so there’s no way to contain the water. There was also a really strange smell coming from the bathrooms the entire time we stayed here. It’s also worth noting that when it says self catering, that’s a bit of a push. There is a fridge and a couple of basic kitchen items. The stove is just a little electric plug in one, and you don’t get any equipment to prep certain meals, such as a knife to cut anything. So it’s essentially self catered for breakfast and lunch as the equipment isn’t adequate to make dinner unless you want pasta every night.
Lovely apartments. Lovely staff. Food in restaurant excellent. Seafood moussaka was delicious. Our only criticism was the shower in our room was very small and not soaking the floor was impossible. Would def stay there again
This was a great holiday. We did an easyJet package for 5 nights at half board. Transfer from and too the airport included.
We had plans of doing nothing. Literally wake up at some point, sit by the pool, and then go to bed. Just a really relaxing break. And the Anika did not disappoint.
It was a “set menu” for us we did get 2 choices which the waitress took down the day before. The food was amazing. We thought about dinning out every other day but after having the dinner (included for half board) we both said “why do we need to go somewhere else?”.
The staff were great and very welcoming, loved a chat when they weren’t too busy.
The breakfast was a buffet but not quite a continental but plenty of selection to please pretty much everyone.
The rooms, although quite basic inside, look to be recently renovated. If I’m wrong about that then they’re doing a great job of keeping them clean.
The rooms were a little paper thing on the walls. We did have a noisy neighbour that kept us awake till 4am the day we landed (not a great start) but when mentioning this to the receptionist it was quickly delt with and they were quite (for the most part) for the remainder of our stay. Aircon is extra FYI. Didn’t need it but something to note.
We did actually go out on 1 day on some tour of Rhodes history places type thing booked with GEM travel. The rep comes to the hotel 3 times a week for activities to look at. Up to you to seek them out in the restaurant. We got told the times they were at our hotel when we landed by the easyJet person. This was incredibly informative tour and the guide was very well spoken and knowledgeable. Left at 9am, home by 6pm.
It was a 5 min walk to the nearest supermarket which was well stocked, about the size of a small Tesco but packed with stuff.
The hotel itself is far enough from the main road it’s very quiet in the evenings. You can see the party lights from the clubbing part but we didn’t hear anything.
The pool was cold. Now the weather also was only in the 26ish degrees with a nice breeze but some people did brave it. The pool was well maintained, clean and ample sunbeds. We got addicted to the floating double bed type sunbed. Just layed and swayed in the breeze.
As we didn’t want to do much we didn’t really explore around or walk anywhere so I can’t comment on things around or near the hotel.
Would we go back? 100% yes.
We probably got a bit unlucky with this accommodation, considering how great the other reviews are.
We had a nice time, but there was a lot of room for improvement in the hotel, especially the bedroom we were given. To start, I think having to pay for air con is a bit of a rip off to be honest. We chose not to and were fine, but other, lower rated hotels in the area give air con in rooms for free. Another thing was that you couldnt disconnect the key card from the door key, so you couldnt charge things without being in the room which was really inconvenient when your phone ran out through the day. The bathroom was tiny and outdated. The bed was like sleeping on a rock – you would have the same comfort levels as you would laying on the floor. There were many small things which added up – such as there not being a drying rack on the balcony for clothes, no washing up liquid (we were in self catering), the door to the balcony was broken, a leaky ceiling and broken light (which were fixed super quickly which was good).
The swimming pool area was nice, though the pool table/games area bit was bad – only 8 balls for the table! You can find better pool tables in other bars and restraunts in a walking distance though.
Though we didnt eat there, the restraunt seemed really nice, but the toilets didn’t have a lock on the door which I found a bit strange.
All in all, we still had a nice time. It just needs a bit of work, but it has potential. We were slightly disappointed because the pictures didn’t match our experience, but that’s a lesson learned for us. You do get what you pay for.
