2. A Gateway to Adventure

With its enviable location, the Amphitryon serves as a hub from which to explore the rich culture and history of the area. From stunning local beaches to charming markets and delicious local eateries, guests can easily immerse themselves in the unique experiences that the town has to offer.

3. Affordable Accommodations with Room for Improvement

Many guests appreciate the budget-friendly rates of the Amphitryon, though it’s important to note that some have pointed out that the hotel does not live up to the full experience of a 4-star establishment. The reviews suggest that while guests find value, they also highlight the need for maintenance and improvements throughout the hotel.

4. Diverse Guest Feedback

Visitor experiences at Amphitryon vary, with some praising the helpful staff and decent breakfasts, while others express frustration over recurring issues like power outages and dated room conditions. This mixed feedback provides potential visitors with a nuanced view of what they can expect during their stay.

5. Friendly Faces Await

One of the most consistent praises across reviews is the amicable and responsive nature of the hotel staff. Whether addressing concerns promptly or keeping the rooms tidied up daily, the staff at Amphitryon truly aim to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

6. Dining Experience: Breakfast and Beyond

Reviews of the breakfast offerings often highlight consistency yet lament a lack of variety—a common theme that leaves some guests desiring more. However, those who arrive early enjoy a decent meal to start their day, while dinner shows promise with a changing menu each evening.

7. Poolside Relaxation

The hotel features a pleasant pool area, although feedback reveals a need for upgrades, particularly regarding pool furniture. Many guests prefer to spend their time at the nearby beach but enjoy the pool as a welcome option for relaxation after a day of exploring.

8. Comfort, Cleanliness, and Concerns

Guests frequently comment on the cleanliness of the rooms, noting the daily housekeeping service. While some find the rooms spacious enough, there are indications that improvements in decor and maintenance are necessary, especially concerning plumbing and electrical issues.

9. Power Outages: A Common Frustration

Multiple guests have reported recurring electrical problems during their stay, including instances of complete power loss for several hours. This has proven to be a significant concern, especially in hot summer months when air conditioning is essential.

10. The Illusion of Budget Luxury

While the label "boutique" suggests something refined, many reviews indicate that the hotel is more aligned with budget accommodation. The expectations based on the boutique title may lead some guests to feel underwhelmed by their overall experience.

11. Exploring the Town: Close Proximity to Major Attractions

In addition to the beach, the Amphitryon is conveniently located near a plethora of attractions that showcase the local culture, cuisine, and natural beauty. Visitors can easily wander to nearby shops, cafes, and historical sites, making every day an adventure.

12. Suitable for the Adventurous Spirit

Many guests appreciate that the hotel suits their needs as a base for exploration rather than a destination in itself. If the aim is to enjoy the local sights and sounds, Amphitryon Boutique Hotel provides the essentials to accommodate adventurous travelers.

13. Guest Feedback: Balancing Expectations

The broad range of reviews indicates that many travelers’ experiences are closely tied to their expectations. Those who view the hotel merely as a place to sleep often leave satisfied, while those with higher expectations regarding luxury may feel disappointed.

14. Summing Up the Experience

The Amphitryon Boutique Hotel offers a sensible accommodation option for those prioritizing cost and convenience over luxury. While it has significant strengths, potential visitors should weigh the pros and cons based on previous guests’ experiences.

  1. An affordable hotel close to everything you need. It’s not really a 4-star hotel but it did suit most of our needs.
Yes, the hotel needs some care – the rooms are dated, we had some power outages and the pool could use new chairs. But the breakfast was decent, the rooms were tidied up every day, the staff was nice and the pool was pleasant as well. It was a decent stay, it fit our budget and it was 10 minutes away from the beach. 👍

  2. This hotel is in a fantastic location ! As a family I would have like the pool open at least until 7pm . I would also strongly recommend that sun loungers are replaced nearly all were ripped/broken . They cleaned our room daily with no issues …. When we did have an issue with our air conditioning the staff sorted it promptly, we did have a power outage twice , which is annoying but it’s an old building and old electrical system , the only place we saw a cockroach was at the airport !

I found the staff to be friendly and the food was ok , but this is a budget hotel not a boutique hotel , we found the beds comfortable. So perhaps so people just have high expectations and thus leave bad reviews . But I should add we are not a family that stay in the hotel all day and only see it as a place to sleep (as long as it’s clean then that’s all we would expect)

  3. Overall rate would be “not great, not terrible”. 3 stars they have are worth it.
-Location is amazing! Close to everything in the town.
-Electricity issues they had previously were fixed, they didn’t run out of it while we were there.
-Breakfast was the same all days, and if you dont arrive at 7am, everything is already cold. Dinner was nice, different every day, but having the same issue as breakfast, it gets cold if you dont come to dinner at 6 pm.
-Housekeeping services were provided every day, you get clean towels every time you put them on the floor.
Housekeepers are positively responsive to guest requests.
-Rooms are big enough, with mediocre and older furniture, which we didn’t find bad at all.
-Pool we didn’t use at all because we came to Rhodes to swim in the sea 🙂

  4. Negative experience with this hotel! The rooms are ok, although there are much better hotels for the same money. Large cockroaches came out of the bathroom several times, and upon complaint, the people from the reception only sprayed spray, which of course did not help. Food is scarce, there is no choice of food, nor sufficient quantity.

  5. No electricity on July! Hotel building has a big energy problem. we stayed here for 4 days. First night there was no electricity at the hotel for 6 hours !!!! That means no air conditioning, no elevator, no battery charge. Next morning when i was going from restaurant to my room, i was stuck in the elevator!!! And there was no staff to help me, another customer help de to get out from elevator. When i talked with the receptionist, she said “this is sometimes happens”. yes this was not temporary problem. The problem source is hotel building. Other buildings which are next our hotel has electricity.
