Probably the best experience we had on the island. Their selling point is the tables that they have situated on balconies on top of a rock. The true reason however, to come back is the food. Fresh fish, delicious plates. A bit on the pricier side but worth every euro. Would definitely recommend.
We visited Akti because we heard from word of mouth that it offers some of the best views towards the old port and the Chora with its beautiful castle. And it was true! Out table was situated in a small balcony like area allowing us privacy but also offering the beautiful views. With respect to the food we had a delicious local version of Caprese salad made with local cheese and a 2kg dusky grouper among seasonal greens and vegetables. As the season was towards its end the full menu was not available and the 2kg fish was the only available on this day. We enjoyed it among a nice white wine from the Greek vineyard. I also dare to say that the wine list options were limited but we really enjoyed our selection.
Worst and slowest service I’ve experienced. I don’t usually do Google reviews but this time I felt like sharing my experience. If it wasn’t for the amazing location of the restaurant, I would have put 1 star. The first dishes arrived with 1h difference in between, after we had reminded the waiter. The second starter came without an apology for the delay and of course 5’ later the main dishes arrived. Cold! We hadn’t even started the second starter yet. Each time a different waiter/waitress served us and none of them was kind enough to apologize for the delay or even explain the situation.
The oysters we had as a starter were smashed, so we were basically eating the inside with crunchy broken pieces of their shell and the shrimps I had in my main dish were burnt.
So disappointed. Such an overrated restaurant. Thankfully the beauty of the island views calmed us down.

This is without question the best restaurant of Astypalaya. Great menu, fresh fish, amazing view, professional service. It may be a little more expensive than other restaurants on the island but prices are more than reasonable for what you get. We highly recommend to have dinner here, booking in advance to reserve one of the tables on the rocks. Thank you and congratulations for such a lovely place.
