A really cool boutique hotel right in the old part of town. In an old building with great views over the harbour. One star down because there is a bar nearby that plays music very loud until 3 am. We were there Friday/Saturday night so I don’t know if it is every night or just the weekend, but it was loud enough to be annoying when you are trying to sleep.
The hotel is located close to the town’s harbour area, making it convenient for touring the city. The room was upgraded for free, and offered a good view from the balcony of the harbour. The room itself, however, was a little basic, with hot water not working consistently in the bathroom. The service was kind, welcoming, and supportive while we were there. A mistake was made on overcharging, but once clarified the staff was very accommodating and prompt in resolving the issue.

The staff at Porto Maltese are friendly and helpful, and they are always happy to make recommendations for things to see and do in the area. The hotel is also located unbelievably central within walking distance of many of Agios Nikolaos’s most popular attractions, including the Venetian harbor, Lake Voulismeni, and the Archaeological Museum.
