Called us gypsy’s for asking to match the price for a bar across the road from them absolutely pathetic disgusting behaviour from the bartenders telling us that we cannot even dream of having that price when we were recommended to the same bar by associates as they thought it was the best bar in town but they work with the upmost disrespect trying to belittle you at the bar based on their completely idiotic agenda as we will not pay 2.7x the price for a drink just from travelling barely even a meter from a competing establishment. Absolutely disgusting treatment of customers would never recommend this bar for those interested go to other bars who actually look out for your wellbeing. When recommended those place by am employee of our 5* hotel we arrived to ask if they would continue I our steak of 3 malibu shots for 19 pounds to find we were to be belittled as disgusting English gypsy’s by their main Baxenden for asking about prices which were in fact not displayed on their menus and continually harassed by the bartender throughout our conversation calling his friends about prices comparisons even though we were just served at the more accommodating wild bull bar for that exact price we asked for and continually heckled as being disgusting English gypsy’s which was the most atrocious behaviour we have experienced throughout all of Greece and the bartender in turn should be extremely ashamed for humiliating such an establishment absolutely disgusting and embarrassing….
First the bad. I’ve heard of places watering down spirits but never experienced it. Until tonight. Gin and tonic. It was looking good!! Ice. Then half filled with “gin” and topped with tonic. I asked for a stirrer as all I tasted was tonic… which was sitting at the top…and still nothing. Downed it…Might as well have ordered tonic water solo. On the plus side the music and the vibe was good. So what was going to be an ok price at €7 was a bit of a swizz. Back in my room I pour a 1/3 glass gin and top up tonic… woohoooo!! BOOM!!
I was there twice last summer during my Greek vacation. The second time I went there was a terrible experience, they sent me and my friend away without a fair reason. We tried to explain and discuss and we have been threatened by a member of the staff. I have not been allowed to explain and to discuss, but only sent away in a so aggressive way I had never seen in my entire life. I think it was very disrespectful and disgraceful, expecially considering what night-life means for Kos Island. Therefore I have no other chance but to let a very negative reference.
These people beat up their customers. Been in Kos for a week and these people are not okay in the head. On our first night the guy said we weren’t allowed in followed by “black man” in a truly racist way. We were mortified and just went around the other bars which are much nicer and with much nicer staff.
But that’s nothing compared to what we’ve witnessed… we’ve been out every night in the area and every night the staff from Saloon finds an excuse to beat up a customer. We’ve seen truly distressing and scarring events, on 3 occasions they’ve left blood all over the street and other bars’ chairs – they’ve beaten up people who were unconscious already, we’ve seen them hit women and men alike with chairs in groups, run after people who are trying to get away from the scene and beat them up until they look dead, throw glasses around, punch women who were trying to break up the scene. There are no locals in the area so the victims are tourists like you and me.
The men are also aggressive with women when trying to get them to go into their club: they pulled women by the hair to call them over and left them crying.
They are CRAZY. The worst we saw was a stag do in which the staff was racist to the broom to be, in order to provoke them and they left a full group of people on the floor, with glass on their legs, cracked heads and other truly insane stuff. Toxic masculinity like you’ve never seen before – do not come here, for your own safety!
