We stopped here for a late lunch between the beaches and Mykonos town. The owner was really good at showing us the foods and how they prepare everything. It was a nice atmosphere with good service.
Definitely recommend this restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and seems to be one of the few that have draught beer on this island. We had the Chicken Souvlaki, Greek salad and halloumi. There was some greek dancing we even went up to join in. They even gave us a free shot of both Raki and Ouzo. A great authentic experience.
We went here as part of a cruise tour. Let me say that the food was terrible. They brought an appetizer of Greek salad and a little plate of 3 sauces that looked like from a can. After that they served us a seafood plate of greasy and cold fried seafood that was just inedible. We asked for a side of tzatziki and they wanted to charge us for that. As a dessert they brought us a teaspoon of yogurt with a tiny bit of honey. Service was not great and not friendly.
An Overpriced Tourist Trap in Mykonos with Tiny Portions and Horrible Service
If you’re looking for a dining experience in Mykonos that will leave you feeling ripped off and frustrated, look no further than vangelis taverna. As a frequent summer visitor to the island, I’ve eaten at countless restaurants, but this one takes the cake for being the worst of the worst.
Let’s start with the prices. Brace yourself, because dining here will cost you an arm and a leg. The menu prices are very high, even by Mykonos standards.
Now, let’s talk about the portion sizes. If you’re hoping for a hearty meal, you’ll be disappointed. The plates are ridiculously small, leaving you wondering if they’re meant for dolls rather than human beings. you’ll be left unsatisfied and hungry. The meat we eat was quite good, but not worth the price.
As if the overpriced, tiny portions wasn’t enough, the service at this restaurant is absolutely horrendous. One of The wait was rude, providing even the bare minimum of customer service.
We really enjoyed the quiet atmosphere, away from city center, good service and really tasty traditional food. Even got a tour of the kitchen and showed us all the meals and how they’re cooking them. A really good dinner.
