I am too generous on rating other taverns. Because this one is just high above the scale. The portions are super and very tasty. Forget about the restaurants in Rethymno, just get here ASAP!
Excellent, extensive selection of traditional Cretan meals. Large restaurant and fast service. You can order from the regular, daily special menu or from the open kitchen where you get to see all the food and make your selection.
Five adults and two children enjoyed grilled Octopus, fried calamari, beef in tomato sauce, and fried potatoes. Stuffed peppers, okra in tomato sauce, grilled sardines, Cretan salad, and more.
I want to give the restaurant a 5 star rating or a 4.5, but I can’t pin down the minor shortcoming. I really have to figure this out.
Overall, it was a great experience.
Probably the best food in Rethymnom. Great GREAT value for money. Friendly service and the atmosphere is excellent.

I come here just for the Saganaki Cheese. I came here on my birthday years ago and ordered just 4 Saganaki Cheese portions. It’s a nice family restaurant, with seats indoors and outdoors, and a small playground for kids. Staff is very friendly, cats are very cuddly, atmosphere is cozy. Good place to sit down and eat with the family.
Great restaurant very conveniently located close to the main road from Heraklion to Chania. Served food is presented in the huge bar which is very convenient for make your choice. Restaurant is pretty big and can be loudly but this is very much local style. Huge parking by the restaurant makes it easy to get there without the Crete’s usual struggle to find a parking spot.
