This is one of those places which is half brilliant, half horrid.
The brilliant bit is the sea. It’s the most brilliant blue I’ve ever seen.
However, it shelves quickly and the waves are strong, so be careful getting out. I was knocked over and faceplanted the shore 🤣.
The beach is white shingle, there are beds/parasols to rent or you can take your own.
There is a bar with one toilet. There is no phone signal so they can only take cash.
Carpark was €10 for the whole day.
Now for the bad point – the drive to get there was TERRIFYING. Admittedly, I do have a specific fear of cliffs and precipices, but even my hubby said it was hair raising and he’s not normally bothered.
The road to get down to the beach is 1.5 cars wide, so passing is a challenge. There are about 20 hairpin bends, none have safety barriers, which leaves you terrified you’ll drive off and crash down the mountain.
I’d love to go back, but I’m not doing that journey again EVER.
If that kind of drive doesn’t bother you, you’ll love it!
Probably my favorite beach in Lefkada. Not too crowded, very peaceful beach and stunning scenery. There are also rocks where you could jump off and make the experience even more enjoyable. You can park on the road just before the parking and not a pay fee if you come early(before 11 am) and find spots. The only downside is the narrow road with no safety barriers so you should be very careful driving and parking.
Beautiful beach, not crowded, free places for everyone.water was perfectly clear. I must admit i was terrified reading about the road to the beach totally unnecessary. the road is steep in some places, narrow in some places, but that’s really not for such comments. the car I used is quite wide and low… in my opinion, the road to the beach is beautiful with a wonderful view of the sea. You hve parking next to the beach, it costs 10euro for day. There is a small bar where you can buy drink and some food.
I visited in early September 2024. It’s a beautiful unique beach, with beautiful rocks and crystal clear water. It’s also connected to Megali Petra beach which is also a must visit. Parking is EUR 10 for the day, theres a dirt road parking lot or if you drive down a bit further theres covered parking, both the same price. Theres one toilet, changing facilities and a basic small beach cafe before you get onto the beach.
Information on the drive to the beach: I’m an experienced driver and I found the drive to hard work. There are narrow parts, lots of twists and turns, hairpin turns, and when I visited there was the added obstacle of very deep potholes in the road. I would advise to drive slowly! The beaches you find at the end of the tricky drive are well worth it! Enjoy!
